April 2017 Wrap-Up

n

April was an okayish month for me in terms of reading. The first two weeks I wasn’t reading much and my school started after that so it got quite busy. The good thing is that I managed to read 6 books and that, good collection too. Two books had been on my TBR list for a long time, two were review books and the remaining two were audiobooks, one of which was a classic. I’m not going to tell all of my thoughts on these books as I plan to do reviews of most of them.

I also participated in the Dewey’s 24 Hours Readathon. You can check out my wrap-up of it here.

So let’s get started 🙂

Books I Read

1. Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll

My rating- 3.5 stars

I finally read this book which is a childhood favorite of a lot of people. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. I enjoyed reading this book and I thought it was funny at times but I didn’t love it and it’s not going to be a favorite.

2. Deceived by Heena Rathore P.

My rating- 4.5 stars

The only thing I’m going to say is that this book chilled me to my bones and it did not go the way I thought it would. More of my thoughts in my full review.

3. Heroes or Thieves (Steps of Power: The Kings, Book 2) by J.J Sherwood

Heroes or Thieves (Steps of Power #2; The Kings #2)

My rating- 3.75 stars

I’m not really sure about my thoughts on this book. The thing is I read it at a time when I wasn’t really into the story and that spoiled the fun for me. I’ll try to organize my thoughts better in my review.

4. Esper Files by Egan Brass

 My rating- 4 stars

After reading this book, I’m definitely going to read more steampunk books. This book was very different from what I’ve been reading lately and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

5. Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone

My rating- 5 stars

I loved this book and I honestly didn’t think I would. There is quite a bit of friendship drama in the book and I was about to DNF it because I wasn’t in the mood for that. I’m so glad I continued with this book and I couldn’t stop once I got into it. This book is enlightening, emotional, inspiring and a really great read. I highly recommend it especially if you love contemporary or want to read a book with a protagonist who has OCD.

6. Poetry Magic, edited by Keki N. Daruwalla

This book was included in my eighth-grade curriculum. I’m really glad I kept this book and decided to read all of it. The collection of poems is really good and has a wide range of authors.

Songs I Listened To On Repeat

Sign Of The Times by Harry Styles

Love Yourself by Justin Bieber

TV Shows

I finished season 6 of Game of Thrones and oh my god, this is one of THE BEST shows I have ever watched!!! Also, I just started reading the first book of the series and I’m really liking it so far.

Like every other person, I also watched Thirteen Reasons Why and loved it. This show was relatable, it was heartbreaking and it had all the emotions. I think the message behind the show is wonderful but I also don’t think this show is for everyone. I just bought the book and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

I also started watching A Series of Unfortunate Events. I have only watched two episodes and I liked them but I’m not really into the story right now.
